Working collaboratively with local schools and the broader community, Guitars Over Guns provides students a wealth of experiences in the arts. All students in the music program learn to read and write contemporary music, play instruments and perform on stage and/or in a recording studio. Performances and gallery displays are also integral to our arts-based mentorship programs.

We launched of our first in-person program in Los Angeles, January 2022. Powered by a generous gift from the Cameron Boyce Foundation, our inaugural team of LA-based mentors brought guitar, bass, piano, and songwriting instruction to 24 students at USC Hybrid High in Historic South Central.
